Last night Graham was introduced to the wonderful world of popsicles, this at Locopops, a gourmet popsicle shop in Durham so well renowned for its frozen treats as to have merited a brief entry in Wikipedia. Mommy's strawberries and cream popsicle was a big hit, but Graham simply couldn't tear himself away from daddy's spicy chocolate. With popsicles such as these (not to mention such funky flavors as Spicy Apple Hazelnut, Plum Black Currant, Mango with Chile, Clementine Thyme Mint, and Thai Rice Pudding), how hot can summer really be?

The GrahamCam: Telephone! I'll get it.

Here is some new video showcasing Graham's increasing mobility. He still needs a little help from mommy, though.

The Garden in Bloom...

I got back home yesterday from a two-week stint at Pope AFB, and this is the sight which greeted my eyes as I pulled into the driveway: the roses, tiger lillies, and stella d'oros in full bloom. They had opened a day or two before--doubtless in anticipation of the return of the Master of the House.

Just When You Thought It Was Safe to Peruse the Grocery Store Book Stands...

Tired of hearing about the Da Vinci Code every time you turn on the radio (or the television, for those of you who do that sort of thing)? Well, it's going to get worse before it gets better. Hang on to your hats, folks--Dan Brown is busting the lid off of another pot-boiling conspiracy:
According to purgatorio, "Dan Brown has announced the plot of his Da Vinci Code follow up novel, The Kinkade Code. In this startling new tale, Harvard professor of Religious Symbology, Robert Langdon, discovers hidden clues in the idyllic, bucolic paintings of Thomas Kinkade and uncovers an ancient conspiracy intent on littering Christian homes around the globe with mediocre works of art."
Thanks to the burly-mon for bringing this little gem to our attention.

Graham was feeling yucky today. It was so nice to see him relaxing with Grandma when I came home from work at noon.

The In-Laws are Here...

Don and Jeri rolled into town on Tuesday evening, ready for a heaping helping of Graham's hospitality. One of the first projects on the list was the installation of a tire swing in the back yard, something every little boy should have.

Here's Don, slinging the rope over a sturdy bough...

...and here are mommy and baby waiting for a push. Preferably an Underdog.

"Hey. I thought this thing was supposed to move."

"Well, if no one will push me, I guess I can always chew on this thing."

"I don't know if this is such a good idea after all..."

The GrahamCam: Perusing the Classics

It has very quickly dawned upon Graham that the ability to crawl opens up vast new horizons for exploration and contemplation. We are happy to report that he has been making a bee-line for the bookcase. Here is some footage of the little guy trying to get his chubby little paws on the Harvard Classics. No doubt he thinks they'll taste just as good as his board books, but in this case we had just as soon keep the drool off of these musty old gems until he can fully savor their less edible contents. Maybe next month.

I'm so proud to be a crawler!

The New and Improved GrahamCam: Crawling!

We've made big progress here, folks, in just a few short days. This video, a failed crawl attempt ending in manifest frustration, was taken about a week ago:

Now check out this footage, shot earlier this morning:

Ladies and gentlemen, we have lift-off!
