A Visit to the ICN

Here's Inga, chilling with her new breathing tube. She was on 45% oxygen early in the morning, but was down to 25% by this afternoon--meaning that she's needing less help to breathe on her own. Hopefully another day or two and we'll get to see her smiling face unobstructed by scuba gear.

Graham wasn't too sure what to make of all this. Babies he'd seen before--no big deal. But a heat lamp--now that was worth seeing!

Beatrice Emily and Ingrid Kathryn Have Arrived

Here's Sarah putting a brave face on it before we head into the operating room.

Beatrice Emily was the first one out of the hatch at 9:41pm. She weighed in at 3 pounds 11 ounces. She doesn't seem to be enjoying her first encounter with the booger sucker.

Here's our little Bea just minutes after delivery, quite calmed down.

Ingrid Kathryn came out a-hollerin'--she weighed just one ounce less than her big sister, but she made twice as much noise.

Inga calmed down in a hurry, too. Now both of our little girls are waiting for a visit from their mommy in the Intensive Care Nursery, where they'll likely remain for some time.

All three of the girls are healthy, happy, and tired. Thanks for your prayers and support--we'll start posting B/IPoDs as we have opportunity.

Tonight's the Night!

Sarah and I are at Duke Hospital getting ready to meet our girls--tonight! We had a fairly routine meeting with our OB this morning, but called back in the early afternoon after Sarah's fFN test came back positive. He wanted her to go check in to L&D for monitoring, but when we got there things starting moving much faster than anyone had expected. Baby A is still breech, so we're looking at a c-section this evening at 8pm. Please pray for a healthy delivery and two screaming girls!

The Hummer of Strollers

Some folks call the Valco Tri Mode Twin the Hummer of Strollers. Well, when you've got to push three little peanuts around, you're way out of Graco territory. I could probably have purchased new editions of the Prima and Secunda Partes for what this thing cost, but I'll have considerable peace of mind knowing that if my family is involved in a stroller accident, we'll win. And in any event, it was a gift from my parents, who generously offered to buy us a stroller when they found out we were having twins, not volumes of Thomas Aquinas.

Birthday Party

Graham can hardly contain his excitement as he helps GaGa in the kitchen with his birthday cakes.



Uh-oh--don't tell Dr. Filip the patient is out of bed!

Hmm, I think I'll have some more of that frosting!


In keeping with Graham's latest obsession, we went with a rocketship theme cake this year.
