Off to the North Country...

We leave this afternoon for Minnesota, not to return till the 31st of December. We have been filling Graham's head with tales of monster snow drifts and sub-zero temperatures for the past few weeks, but it looks as though things might be a bit more tame. We'll post pictures as we are able, and in the meantime we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

It's beginning to feel a lot like...summer

It was a beautiful day today - 71 degrees - so David and Graham spent some time swinging.

GPoD: 12.16.2006

What's in the oven this morning? Scones?

I love scones!

We had our good friends Chad, Ashley, and Jack Weinard over for dinner last night. We all enjoyed a romping after-dinner duet, performed by the Cracker Kids. The whole piece was played in forte.

Graham Loves Pickles

Garage Update

Here's me painting facia and soffits. I hate painting. And this is only the primer.

Dear Grandma,
I miss you. Mom has been reading to me, but it's not the same.
Love, Graham

Decking the Halls

Last night we trimmed our Christmas tree. Graham was much more interested and, I might add, a much bigger help than last year.

Here Graham waits patiently while mommy explains the finer points of hanging ornaments.

Checking out the lights...

Making sure daddy hung things properly...

And, of course, the star...

Got a light?

Don't worry: it's just a candy cane.

GPoD: 12.1.2006

It's been a while since we posted some quality GPoDs, and the kinfolk have been getting restless. So we had a little photo shoot at dinner tonight.

More Construction Photos

Here's the building crew, posing atop the edifice: (left to right) Don (my father in law), Aaron (brother in law), Scott (sister in law's husband), Adam (brother in law), me, and my dad, Paul.

After days of wretched weather, we finally saw blue skies yesterday, and the pace picked up on our construction.

Aaron and Scott worked late into the night yesterday getting our roof shingled. Actually, it was only about 5:30, but it sure looks late!

Mmmmm. Good.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Our crew spent Thanksgiving Day working outside. The rain has stopped, the sun is out, and they aren't freezing anymore! We will celebrate with a Thanksgiving feast on Saturday when Scott and Emily come. Until then, we're working!
