The New Graham

Tonight was haircut night. Graham hates haircuts. No: I mean Graham REALLY HATES haircuts. But, as you can see from the picture below, the little man was getting pretty shaggy.

So tonight daddy thought he'd give it a go. Graham was pleading, "No scissors!" so I thought I'd try the electric clippers. Amazingly enough, after a few protestations, he went for it. We had a movie on for him to watch, and he actually cooperated, more or less. And, I'm happy to report, the finished product is in full compliance with Air Force Dress and Grooming Standards. Now if we could just get him potty trained.

"Hey, where'd all my hair go?"

Busy

Graham has been busy the past few days with craft projects, baking, and squealing in cushion forts.

Myrtle and Gertle

Well, it's official: we've got two little GIRLS on the way. And now that we know the gender, it's high time for us to roll out the womb names. So friends, meet Myrtle and Gertle. We haven't decided on their real names yet, and the jury shows no sign of reaching a unanimous conclusion anytime soon. So until further notice, this is what we're calling them. We also learned today that we'll be doing ultrasounds about every four weeks, so more pictures will follow soon.

Honey-Do

Now that the school year is over, I'm catching up on my honey-do list. Several of our shutters were in pretty sorry shape, so I repaired them, rehung four of them, and painted them all. But the new paint didn't quite match the old, which meant that the front door didn't quite match the shutters. And as we reflected on the situation, we realized that we never really liked that front door anyway: it let no light in, and it was drafty and inefficient. So yesterday I put in a new front door. According to my calculations, this new high efficiency door should pay for itself in approximately 413 years. But at least our foyer will no longer be the darkest corner of the house.

Uncle Josh

Uncle Josh came to town this weekend, and Graham was duly impressed. Maybe it was the bulbous sunglasses. Or his willingness to be fed an endless stream of pickles. Or maybe it was his heroic exertions playing airplane. Whatever it was, "Unco Joss" was a smash hit. Come back soon, Unco Joss.
