"Inga, you have boogers. But I just have snot. Boogers are yucky. Mommy, you know what kind of snot I have?"
Pause...do I want to know? "Graham, what kind?"
"Peach."
It's going to be a long, snotty day.

Sharp Kid
David was on his way home, Bea was napping, Graham was entertaining himself on the kitchen floor, Inga was on my hip, and Yo-Yo Ma was playing Bach as I prepared the fish and cous cous for tonight's supper. It was very calm, very quiet. Too quiet. Graham suddenly stood up and raced around the kitchen as fast as he could. He stopped, spun around, and said, "Mommy, that's much better."
"What's much better?"
"I can run much better with sharp socks."
I stopped tending to the fish and turned around.
"What do you mean, 'sharp socks'?"
"I sharpened my socks!" This, proudly said as he held up the cheese grater.

BIG PoD 2.14.2009
Graham often applauds for himself after concerts. Favorites include The Wheels on the Bus, Happy Birthday, and This Little Light of Mine.
Here we are at Duke Park again. This, incidentally, is how I cook while holding both babies. Inga is in the sling and Bea is in my left arm, leaving the right arm free to chop, stir, saute, and help Graham dump things in bowls.

GBI PoD 2.10.2009
Graham's newest hobby is to dig through our recycling bin to dump water from one container to the next. He often comments, "This was my favorite juice when I was a little boy."
Bea and Inga (Bea's first battle wound is seen on her nose. We're not sure if it's self-inflicted or a love swipe from her sister.)

Dreaming
It is with great shock and pleasure that I write briefly to let all of you who pray for my sanity know that BOTH babies are napping in the crib AT THE SAME TIME and that Graham is reading quietly to himself in the living room. This house has been quiet for 43 minutes (in a row) and I have actually finished a cup of tea that only had to be reheated once. Keep the prayers coming!
