We attended Bayport's Memorial Day parade this morning. It was similar to the Rougemont, NC parades the kids are used to: horses, firetrucks, marching bands, and hard bubble gum candy. There were some definite differences though. Bayport's parade actually started right on time. There were no hillbilly wagons and a noticeable lack of rifles. Over all, the kids really enjoyed it.

Art of the Day: Bea edition
This morning David went outside early to shampoo the barbeque sauce that had splashed all over the seat of his car from the pig roast he helped with this weekend on base. While he was shampooing on one side of the car, Bea was helping with Daddy's car on the other side. Thankfully, she does not follow exactly in the footsteps of her Uncle Adam. Bea's tool of choice: purple sidewalk chalk. Adam's tool of choice: a rock. Bea's canvas: Daddy's crusty old (but faithful) car. Adam's canvas: our father's patrol car. I think today's art was more appreciated than the art of Adam twenty five years ago...
