Moving in!

We had our walk through on Wednesday afternoon.  The previous owners left this little message on the chalkboard in the 'Narnia Room'.  It is a room off of G and W's room (appropriately entered through their closet doors) that was a storage room turned playroom.  With chalkboards.  And its own heating/cooling system.  These people are amazing grandparents!
They also left treats for the kids in the fridge.
We got to show Bop and Gaga the house Thursday morning after we closed.  Thanks, Wardles, for hosting us Wednesday night!!  This is the side of the house, walking from the driveway to the back deck and patio.

Unloading Thursday morning/afternoon.  Thanks, Tim and Cherie!
Gaga made a stop at Candy Land in Stillwater before they came down!

Dad and David had to run a gas line to our dryer.  This is the crawl space (in case you care).
 Will, embracing his lumberjack heritage
David, wishing he would have pursued logging rather than a PhD.....just kidding.  Kind of.
We have a palm tree at the end of our driveway
We love you, Bop and Gaga!
David painted his study 'willow'.  He didn't like the white and yellow look.
 Trying to stay clean!
Here's the part of the tour that will make you remember how much you should hate moving.  After many requests from many people, I'm posting pictures of our house exactly one week after we started unloading the trucks.  It's really messy.  Here's the study.
Front bathroom.  Yes, the walls are sponge painted.   You forgot how cool that looked, didn't you.
View from the living room to the front door.  The basement door on the left is open.

A little Iowa escape

Our truck took away all of our belongings on Friday but, as many of you know, our buyers had difficulty with the closing date, which left us with a dirty, empty house for many nights.  Rather than trying to kill time over the weekend, Katie and Tim invited us out to Iowa for a little R and R between loading the truck and closing.  We are so very thankful for the time we got to spend with them and their kids and with Paul and Peggy.  It was a much-needed break!

Moving Out!

 A little break between packing
 Will can wink!
 Inga can go cross-eyed!
Graham helped take down hooks and unscrew light bulbs.
 The truck is coming!

Last night before the beds are on the truck.

It doesn't look like our living room anymore...

We stopped for dilly bars at 9:30 Sunday night after our power of attorney meeting.  The kid were such troopers during this crazy week.
Monday morning - last minute coolers and goodbye, Montgomery!
We got in to Wilderness at the Smokies really late on Monday night, but Tuesday morning the kids were ready to hit the water park.

It really was a fantastic place to stay.  Our suite could sleep 10.  Those of you who are friends with David on facebook know how we scored this two night stay for free.  I'm still laughing...

Matchers

I know that this won't last forever, but for now, the boys love being 'matchers'.
