Confession

I just lost our child. It's true. I was in the study checking email and getting an address. Inga was sleeping, Bea was cooing somewhere, and Graham was in the study with me talking. We got the address and I didn't hear more cooing. So we casually got up and started to look for Bea. Graham and I looked ALL OVER the house, circling it three times, calling her name. Silence. At this point I started to panic. How can you lose a child in a 1670 square foot house? We don't have a basement, the doors are locked. Finally, on the fourth trip around the house, I saw a small bit of yellow peeking out. And this is where she was, wedged between the couch and underneath the end table, behind the bookcase full of toys, and silent as a mouse.

In other news, David and Graham have been working on building lego towers that reach the ceiling. I don't think there are any theological implications for this practice, so don't read too much into it.
